Dental Implants

If you are missing teeth, then you understand how difficult simple tasks like eating, speaking, and smiling can be on a daily basis.

You don’t need to live this way. Dental implants can restore missing teeth with stable, functional, and long-lasting restorations.

Find out why implant-supported restorations are so popular among Dr. Robert Arbuckle’s patients in Wilton, CT…

3 Main Benefits of Treatment...

DENTAL IMPLANTS ARE JUST LIKE NATURAL TEETH!

Implant Restorations for All Types of Tooth Loss

Bridges

Patients with two or three consecutively missing teeth are good candidates for an implant-supported bridge. An implant bridge is a single prosthetic consisting of multiple connected prosthetic teeth. It is usually supported by two or more implant posts and does not affect surrounding natural teeth.

Dentures

Full implant dentures replace all the teeth on the upper or lower dental arch. We also provide partial dentures to restore large portions of your arch around any remaining natural teeth. In some cases, we recommend extractions to give you a strong and healthy foundation for your denture.

5-STAR REVIEWS

So What Is a Dental Implant?

implant

First, a titanium implant is placed within the jaw, where it fuses to bone and replaces the missing dental root. The post is then capped with a small connector piece known as an abutment. Finally, we secure your implant-supported restoration to the abutment to complete your smile.

Candidates for Dental Implants

While dental implants have given many of our patients in the greater Wilton area life-changing results, treatment is not right for everyone. In order to qualify for dental implants, patients must:

Dental Implant Treatment Timeline

While dental implants involve a lengthier procedure than traditional tooth replacement methods, most patients at our Wilton office find the long-term benefits well worth the wait.
  • 1. IMPLANTS

Treatment begins with a surgical procedure to place the dental implants into the jawbone. Dr. Arbuckle can refer you to a trusted doctor for this portion of your implant treatment. We will provide a custom surgical guide to ensure precise placement.

  • 2. OSSEOINTEGRATION

Over the next three to six months, the implants fuse to your jaw in a process known as osseointegration. It is crucial to practice good oral hygiene throughout this time to ensure you heal properly.

  • 3. ABUTMENTS

Once osseointegration is complete, you will return to the oral surgeon for a second minor procedure. During this visit, the doctor will expose the implants and secure abutments to each post.

  • 4. PROSTHETIC DESIGN

Our practice uses the latest dental technology, including digital impressions, to design your prosthetic teeth. This information is then sent to our partner dental lab where skilled technicians hand-craft the restoration.

  • 4. TOOTH RESTORATION

When your restoration is ready and your gums have healed from the abutmentprocedure, you will return to our Wilton, CT, practice for the final step. Our dentist will inspect your implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture and make sure it is up to our high standards. After making any necessary adjustments, we attach the prosthetic teeth to the dental implants and your treatment is complete.

Are Implants Covered By Insurance?

Generally, no. While your crown, bridge, or denture might be, implants themselves are not. We accept many types of dental insurance and will coordinate directly with your provider to get you the most coverage possible.

Our Wilton office strives to keep costs fair and affordable. We also offer flexible financing through CareCredit®, allowing patients to better manage the remaining out-of-pocket treatment costs. Keep in mind that with proper hygiene and checkups, implants can last a lifetime and substantially improve your quality of life.
